Fight fight fight! It’s a female competition special! We all know men duke it out in the name of love, honour and occasionally plain boredom, but do women also seek to outcompete members of their own sex? And is this question so controversial we shouldn’t even be asking it?

  1. Why do people find it surprising that women compete for men? In caveman times a man could only provide for a limited number of women. Male provisioning would have been a finite resource women would have to compete for. Wouldn't it?

  2. Thanks for the comment. It's only surprising to the extent that make-make competition is so obvious and observable. But yes, humans are a co-parenting species and so it makes sense for both sexes to compete for the best mates.
